What do scrap metal prices depend on?
How is scrap metal assessed when buying it?
When forming the price for scrap metal per kg/ton, the following points are taken into account:
Color scrap is more expensive than black scrap. However, the batches of the first are usually much smaller, so the question of benefit for the seller here is relative.
Batch volume. A kilogram of scrap in a large batch will be valued higher than the corresponding weight in a small one. This applies equally to ferrous and non-ferrous metal, especially if the weight is measured in tons.
Types of scrap. Belonging to them directly affects the price.
The condition of recyclables. Rust, the presence of concrete mortar, oil and other impurities reduce the cost. This is especially worth considering if you want to surrender construction scrap. In the minus go also lining materials.
Cleanliness. The company involved in accepting scrap, determines the amount of pure metal in alloys.
The need for dismantling, sorting, cutting and transportation also affect how much money you will make.
During the winter, recyclables are offered at a higher price because they are harder to procure and transport.
What affects the price of metal acceptance
The price list, at which you can sell metal today, evaluates raw materials according to the following categories:
Alloy composition. The price of non-ferrous metal is higher than black metal, as it costs more in the market, so it is more profitable to surrender used products precisely from non-ferrous metal.
Purity. Scrap of different categories is represented by old products, and non-ferrous alloy is often contaminated with synthetic components, dirt and plastic.
Volume. Price for 1 kg of non-ferrous metal today may include the provision of services for the collection, loading and removal of scrap from the territory of the customer.
Acceptance of metal at a price that suits the customer is possible only in companies that are engaged in processing independently. When cooperating with a direct processing company, you can surrender any number of old products at the most favorable price list.
What can be scrapped?
Scrap metal is waste that is considered unnecessary. However, this waste is worth a lot of money because recycling metal saves its natural reserves. Instead of turning used items into a landfill, it is best to turn in scrap metal and get paid for it. This is relevant even if you have, say, only a meter of pipe.
